How to Change

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”
Rumi
We are facing a lot of big changes in the world at the moment. Some of them welcome. Others, not so much.
Change is hard.
Transformational but hard.
We resist it even though we know that not only is it inevitable, but without change there is no chance to grow.
Because any change, even change for the better is full of discomfort.
It takes time and energy and focus to make the changes we seek and courage to let go of the familiar. Trying something new and challenging for the first time is always going to be well, a challenge.
But the truth is, unless you are willing to change, you can’t move forwards. And that can sometimes feel like you’re stuck.
So what’s the best way to make the changes you seek to make and be the change you want to see in the world?
The simple answer is this;
Consistently. Drip by drip. One step at a time. Slowly but surely.
Sometimes so slowly we don’t even notice the difference between yesterday and today. But over time, doing a little bit everyday, all those yesterdays start to add up.
There’s very little more rewarding than being able to look back at something you have built or made or contributed to and say, see that, I did that.
So what are you waiting for?
What’s the change you really want to make?
